Complicated Contraception

Contraception has been a problem for me since I was 17.

After my last pregnancy (read When I Was 17…) I’ve tried 4 different types of contraception: a mini pill, the combined pill, the patch & the implant in the space of less than 4 years.

The mini pill lasted about 2 weeks. The combined pill 2 years. The patch 3 months and the implant just under a year.

3 months after the implant came out, I was once again pregnant (all the ladies in my family are highly fertile).

The question now is: do I want contraception and if so, what one? They all make me fat. My last option is the coil (IUD) or the injection.

I’ve heard alot of negatives about the injection, namely if it doesn’t agree with you, you can’t do anything about it! Also a few females I know have managed to get pregnant whilst on it and with my history, I don’t reckon my chances.
The other option is the coil which I’m unsure how I feel about it. One makes your period heavier (pass!) and one stops it altogether (yes please). But I’ve heard stories of guys being able to feel them during sex (can anyone say “passion killer”?) and I’m just a bit unsure.

I haven’t mentioned condoms as I’m realistic. Ditto abstinence!

I just don’t know!
